GOVERNMENT OF JAMAICA PROCUREMENT PROCEDURES
It is important to emphasize that the Government of Jamaica Procurement
Procedures are determined and promulgated by the Cabinet of the
Government of Jamaica. They are neither determined, nor prescribed, nor
imposed by the Office of the Contractor General (OCG) or the National
Contracts Commission (NCC).
Based on the Government of Jamaica Procurement Procedures, the role of
the NCC is to :
- Review and endorse recommendations for
the award of government contracts abover J$15 Million in value;
Make recommendation to Cabinet for the
award of contracts over J$40 Million in value;
Oversee the activities of the seven(7)
Sector Committees;
Review and approve the use of some
procurement methods outside of the appropriate thresholds;
ensuring that the award of government
contracts area carried out in compliance with the procurement
procedures.
